Shawn, I not only believe it is possible, I am putting it to the test in my next unit, Athletics. I am going to make the Student Learning Outcomes very clear to the students during the pre-assessment phase of the unit. In kid-friendly language, I am going to introduce what it is that they are expected to know and do by the end of the unit.

I am very excited to see the results! I am in the process of writing my own planners and will be doing an Athletics unit very soon. Maybe we can Skype some ideas back and forth? I think my class size and school provides some interesting challenges. 3/17/2013 04:21:54 pm
Shawn, would be very happy to Skype ideas back and forth with you. I am posting a blog later today about my upcoming Athletics unit and how I am going to address the Student Learning Outcomes. Check it out. If you can, send me your email address. Where are you presently working? Talk later
