I am so happy that I was able to talk my administration into letting me culminate my movement composition unit in this fashion. Imagine, 350 students and well over 100 parents all dancing away together to the same songs. For our weekly assembly this week we pushed back the seats and let the students dance away. It was a very successful way to culminate my movement composition unit and the students were able to show off their skills. It is worth it to click the video below and watch. It is only about a 3 minute video. Great closure to the unit and lots of smiling kids, teachers, and parents. The video does not do justice to the actual moving, grooving, and shaking that was going on, but you'll get an idea as to how it all went. Thanks!

Hey Andy! At my school we have an assembly every Monday morning and we do a dance with the whole school every single Monday. It is great! You should check out Robin Bretzing. She makes up dances called bleacher dances for football games.

Here you go! She does these at PE4Life conventions and it is geared towards high school students, but I have implemented some of them at our school and it works great! I have needed to change some of the moves in case the younger grades can't handle it.

Love it! I'm always looking for ways to integrate dance into my K-5 PE classes. Way to go!
